We will be on normal bus routes for this afternoon.
School buses will run snow routes in the morning. We will reassess things tomorrow and make a decision by early afternoon in regards to PM routes.
Tonight’s games are on.
BPH will host Calvary Lutheran at Prairie Home this evening, with the girls’ game starting at 6pm.
The increased temperatures have greatly improved road conditions since this morning, and will continue to do so throughout the evening. Be aware that there are still problem areas on portions of gravel roads, so please be careful or adapt your plans to your family’s needs if your path to school includes gravel.
Due to the poor road conditions, today's blood drive at the school will be rescheduled.
Date Correction: School is closed today, Tuesday January 23.
No School: Tuesday, January 22:
I went out to ensure our roads were safe for our students, student drivers, and staff today. While driving on our side highways, most of the roads are clear, but there are some very unsafe slick spots. At one point, I lost control of my vehicle going down a hill. Our gravel also remains very slick, and I cannot be confident of a safe enough thaw to ensure a late start will work.
Due to these conditions and the uncertain time of a complete thaw, which should happen sometime this afternoon, we will be cancelling school today. Decisions on after school activities will be made later today once we can see the impact on raising temperatures.
Buses will be on snow routes tomorrow, January 23.
Due to continued slick conditions, all evening activities have been cancelled for tonight.
No School Tomorrow, Monday January 22:
The National Weather Service is forecasting with high certainty freezing rain and ice accumulation on roads from about midnight to early afternoon. For the safety of students and commuting staff, we will be out of school. Evening activity decisions will be made tomorrow when timing of the warm up becomes clearer.
HS basketball reschedule dates:

Congratulations to our junior high and high school school-wide science fair winners! The CCAA science fair contest will take place January 24-26 at Prairie Home.

Due to some carried over road conditions, current precipitation, and bitter cold in the morning, we will run snow routes tomorrow, Friday, January 19.
Snow Routes, Thursday January 18
Due to continued poor road conditions on parts of our gravel routes and the threat of a refreeze tomorrow morning, we will be on snow routes again tomorrow.
There will be archery practice today and tomorrow (1/17 and 1/18). There is no bus over for practices so students will need rides.
Buses will be running snow routes tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17. Please contact your driver if your child's transportation will be changed from normal.
Fun and games!
Classroom fun!
Me and My Special Someone Dance - Saturday, January 27th

No School: Tuesday, January 16th
After much consideration, it has been decided that there will be no school tomorrow. While our goal is to get students back in the building, the dangerously cold temperatures and the threat of buses not being able to complete their routes with students on board makes that decision difficult. Our building, especially the elementary side and gym area, are struggling to keep up with the cold with several classrooms not reaching acceptable temperatures for student safety and quality learning. Evening activities are also cancelled.
We look forward to having students back on Wednesday and are continuing to take proactive steps to ensure that our buses will be ready to go and our classrooms will be warmer with the rising temperatures.
The Archery tournament at Tipton tomorrow has been cancelled due to predicted weather conditions.
