Alternate – Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Thurs: Breakfast – Sausage Gravy with Biscuits or Cereal, Fruit, Milk or Juice
Lunch – Chicken Nuggets, Fries, Fruit, Bread, Milk
Alternate – Beef Fingers

Early Dismissal & School Out: PHS will have an early dismissal on Thursday, Oct. 28th at 12:30 p.m. due to Parent/Teacher Conferences and PHS will not be in session on Friday, Oct. 29th or Monday, Nov. 1st. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 28th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a dinner break for the teachers from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All teachers will be in their classrooms for the conferences.

Red Ribbon Week: PHS will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week next week Oct. 25th – 29th. This will include Dress Up Days and a Door Decorating Contest. JH/HS will be decorating their doors during advisory and voting will be done on Wednesday. Oct. 27th. Decorations must use the Drug Free theme. Winners will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 28th. Dress Up Days will be as follows. No props (hats, etc.) please: Monday– Too Bright for Drugs (wear neon colors), Tuesday – Team Up Against Drugs (wear your favorite sports attire/jersey), Wednesday – Life is a Journey (dress like a tourist) and Thursday – My Future is Bright Without Drugs (wear college gear or a career outfit.)

Food Shortages: Due to the food shortages and inability to receive some of our orders from our grocery suppliers, starting in Monday, Nov. 1st our alternate choices for lunch will be the same choices according to which day of the week: Monday – PB&J, Tuesday – Turkey Sandwich, Wednesday – Chef Salad, Thursday – Ham Sandwich, Friday – Grilled Cheese. These choices are reported on our November menu but we look for this to continue for several months.

Pumpkin & Gourd Decorating Contest: Please see the attached flyer and join in the fun as you decorate your pumpkin or gourd for the PBS Fundraiser. Prizes awarded for the Top 4 entries of these groups: K-5, 6-9, 10-12, & Staff. The contest starts on Monday, Oct. 11th and judging will be done on Wednesday, Oct. 27th.

Beta Club Blood Drive: There will be a Beta Club Blood Drive on Nov. 5th in the Library from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to donate can contact Mrs. Paulson to schedule a time.

Yearbooks on Sale: YEARBOOKS ARE ON SALE NOW! Yearbooks will now be FALL Books. The entire year of 2021-2022 will go into this year’s book, as well as the spring activities from last year. Books will then be delivered next fall of the  2022-2023 school years. Yearbooks are now on sale for $25.00 until after Dec. 22nd at which time the cost will increase to $30.00. Order online by credit card or to personalize your yearbook at www.yearbookforever.com
or order with the attached order form in the weekly newsletter to pay by cash or check. This order form will need to be returned to the school.

Breakfast and Lunch Cost: The free breakfasts and lunches for all students have been extended throughout the 2021-2022 school year. If they want to buy “extras”, those will be charged to the student. A small extra is .75 and a large extra is $1.00.

Student Pick-Up: If you need to change your student’s plans for the end of the day (they will be picked up, need to ride a different bus, etc.) please call the school office before 1:00 p.m. to make those changes.

Medication: All medication, both over-the-counter as well as prescription, must be given to the school nurse. Serious consequences may result if a student is found with any drugs including over the counter or prescription. First offense may result in 10 days of O.S.S. Over-the-counter or prescription drugs may not be kept in purses, pockets, book bags, lockers or anywhere else on school grounds. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Simmons at 660-841-5296.

Food Service: Please be sure and keep your student’s Food Service accounts up to date. Account balance summaries will be sent home every Friday (if your student has a negative balance it will be in parentheses). If a student’s balance is negative, they will not be allowed “extras”.
