Dismissal Times: All PHS students will be dismissed daily at 3:15 p.m. If you need to pick up your student(s) earlier than 3:15 p.m., please let the office know at 660-841-5296.

No School: Prairie Home R-V School will not be in session on Monday, Sept. 20th due to a Teacher Professional Development day.

Congratulations: Congratulations to our Student Council Officers for 2021-2022: President – Savanna Tracy, Vice President – Hailey Milne, Secretary – Grace Hodges and Treasurer – Madison Brown.

Title 1 Meeting/Title 1 Fall Technology Night: Our “Beginning of the Year” Title1 meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29th at 5:15 p.m. in the cafeteria. This is meeting is held to give parents a chance to learn more about our Title1 program and what we do. It is open to elementary and high school parents. A light dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. followed by time in the classroom to learn all the new technology components we have
added over the last year.

PTO Fundraiser: Please don’t forget the PTO is selling Trash Bags (see attached) for a fundraiser. Be sure and place your order by Sept. 24th .

Yearbooks on Sale: YEARBOOKS ARE ON SALE NOW! Yearbooks will now be FALL Books. The entire year of 2021-2022 will go into this year’s book, as well as the spring activities from last year. Books will then be delivered next Fall of the 2022-2023 school year. Yearbooks are now on sale for $25.00 until after Dec. 22 nd at which time the cost will increase to $30.00. Order online by credit card or to personalize your yearbook at www.yearbookforever.com
or order with the attached order form in the weekly newsletter to pay by cash or check. This order form will need to be returned to the school.

PTO Movie Night: The PHS PTO is Movie Night is tonight Friday, Sept. 17 th with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the movie “Peter Rabbit 2” will start at 7:00 p.m.

Counselor’s Corner: If you have a student(s) that you want to see the counselor, Mr. Neal, for individual meetings, please follow these steps to fill out the referral form: 

1. Go to prairiehome.k12.mo.us 
2. Click on the Counselor Resources tab.
3. Click on Counselor’s Corner and on the top of the page you will find the School Counseling Referral form. Click on that and it will take you to the online form.

School Pictures: School pictures will be taken by Interstate Studio on Monday, Oct. 4th . Picture retakes are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 13th .

Breakfast and Lunch Cost: The free breakfasts and lunches for all students have been extended throughout the 2021-2022 school year. If they want to buy “extras”, those will be charged to the student. A small extra is .75 and a large extra is $1.00.

Student Pick-Up: If you need to change your student’s plans for the end of the day (they will be picked up, need to ride a different bus, etc.) please call the school office before 1:00 p.m. to make those changes.

Medication: All medication, both over-the-counter as well as prescription, must be given to the school nurse. Serious consequences may result if a student is found with any drugs including over the counter or prescription. First offense may result in 10 days of O.S.S. Over-the-counter or prescription drugs may not be kept in purses, pockets, book bags, lockers or anywhere else on school grounds. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Simmons at 660-841-

Food Service: Please be sure and keep your student’s Food Service accounts up to date. Account balance summaries will be sent home every Friday (if your student has a negative balance it will be in parentheses). If a student’s balance is negative, they will not be allowed “extras”. If your student’s balance falls negative more than $5.00, they will be eating a cheese sandwich (for which they will not be charged) and milk (for which they will be charged.)
