Tues: Breakfast – Cinnamon Cream Cheese Roll-Up & Sausage Links or Cereal, Fruit, Milk or Juice
Lunch – Shepherd’s Pie, Lettuce Salad, Fruit, Bread, Milk
Alternate – Corn Dog

Wed: Breakfast – Bacon & Egg on Bagel or Cereal, Fruit, Milk or Juice
Lunch – Chicken Wrap, Pasta Salad, Fruit, Milk
Alternate – Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Thurs: Breakfast – Biscuit & Sausage Gravy or Cereal, Fruit, Milk or Juice
Lunch – Lasagna, Green Beans, Fruit, Garlic Toast, Milk
Alternate – Chicken Patty

Fri: Breakfast – Oatmeal & Toast or Cereal, Fruit, Milk or Juice
Lunch – Fish Sandwich, Mac & Cheese, Fruit, Brownie
Alternate – Sloppy Joe on Bun

We are currently in Category 1 of our COVID-19 Guidelines & Protocols Re-Entry Plan. All Students are strongly encouraged to wear masks while at school which includes the hallways, school buses, classrooms and any area where social distancing is not possible.

Congratulations: Congratulations to our CCAA Math Contest Winners!! Prairie Home Jr. High received Overall 1st place!! Great job Junior High students!! Please note the attachment with all of the results of the CCAA Math Contest. Great job everyone!! We’re very proud of you.

Congratulations: Congratulations to Grace Hodges and Kaelyn Crews. Grace received 3rd place Overall and Kaelyn received 4th place Overall at the CCAA High School

No School: PHS will not be in session from Thursday, April 1st – Tuesday, April 6th for our Easter/Spring Break. Classes will resume on Wednesday, March 7th .

Book Fair: There is a Book Fair scheduled for PHS for March 15th – 26th . The Book Fair will be open after school from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from March 15th – 19th . The Book Fair will remain open during school hours on the following week but closed after school. There is also an online component to the Book Fair that can be accessed through this link: https:www.scholastic.com/bf/prairiehome5school. You may order items online, but it also provides useful information for parents and students. Though the link is active, purchases
cannot be made until March 12th .

Prairie Home Lion’s Club Fish Fry & Smoked Turkey Dinner and Cake Auction: Please note the
attachment announcing the Prairie Home Lion’s Club Annual Fish Fry & Smoked Turkey Dinner. This is a fun evening with great food and fellowship.

Breakfast and Lunch Cost Changes: Due to a new offering from the State of Missouri, all students at PHS will receive a free breakfast and lunch. Students will still be charged for any extra’s they eat. A small extra is .75 and a large extra is $1.00. The free breakfasts and lunches started on Sept. 10th and will now continue until the end of the school year.

Student Pick-Up: If you need to change your student’s plans for the end of the day (they will be picked up, need to ride a different bus, etc.) please call the school office before 1:00 p.m. to make those changes.

Medication: All medication, both over-the-counter as well as prescription, must be given to the school health aide. Serious consequences may result if a student is found with any drugs including over the counter or prescription. First offense may result in 10 days of O.S.S. Over-the-counter or prescription drugs may not be kept in purses, pockets, book bags, lockers or anywhere else on school grounds. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Simmons at 660-841-5296.

Food Service: Please be sure and keep your student’s Food Service accounts up to date. Account balance summaries will be sent home every Friday (if your student has a negative balance it will be in parentheses). If a student’s balance is negative, they will not be allowed “extras”. If your student’s balance falls negative more than $5.00, they will be eating a cheese sandwich (for which they will not be charged) and milk (for which they will be charged.)
