Lunch – Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, Fries, Fruit, Milk
Alternate – BBQ Rib on Bun

Fri: Breakfast – Bagel & Cream Cheese or Cereal, Fruit, Milk or Juice
Lunch – Nachos, Refried Beans, Fruit, Milk
Alternate – Chicken Quesadilla

We are currently in Category 1 of our COVID-19 Guidelines & Protocols Re-Entry Plan. All Students are strongly encouraged to wear masks while at school which includes the hallways, school buses, classrooms and any area where social distancing is not possible.

Congratulations: Congratulations to Madison Brown and Maggie Wood who were selected for the District 9 Basketball Team. Great job Girls!

Beta Club Induction: The Beta Club Induction Ceremony will be held on Thursday, March 11th at 6:00p.m.

Early Dismissal & No School: PHS will have an early dismissal on Thursday, March 18th due to
Parent/Teacher Conferences and will not be in session on Friday, March 19th . Classes will resume on Monday, March 22 nd .

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, March 18th from 1:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a dinner break for teachers from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Book Fair: There is a Book Fair scheduled for PHS for March 15 th – 26 th . The Book Fair will be open after school from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from March 15 th – 19 th . The Book Fair will remain open during school hours on the following week but closed after school. There is also an online component to the Book Fair that can be accessed through this link: https:www.scholastic.com/bf/prairieh... . You may order items
online but it also provides useful information for parents and students. Though the link is active, purchases cannot be made until March 12th .

Class Composites from Inter-State Studio: The deadline for ordering the Class Composites has been extended to Wednesday, March 10th . Class Composites are now available to order from Inter-State Studio. Get yours today at inter-state.com/order. Use order code 56343S.

Academic Team Practices: Academic team practices have begun with the H.S. team practicing on Mondays from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. and the J.H. team will be practicing along with the High School team on Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Hand Lotion: Please make sure your student(s) are using hand lotion at home due to the fact that in our increase in hand washing and sanitizing, we are seeing a lot of chapped and dry hands. If anyone would like to bring in hand lotion for their students, please feel free to do so. We are using a lot of it at school also.

Breakfast and Lunch Cost Changes: Due to a new offering from the State of Missouri, all students at PHS will receive a free breakfast and lunch. Students will still be charged for any extra’s they eat. A small extra is .75 and a large extra is $1.00. The free breakfasts and lunches started on Sept. 10th and will now continue until the end of the school year.

Student Pick-Up: If you need to change your student’s plans for the end of the day (they will be picked up, need to ride a different bus, etc.) please call the school office before 1:00 p.m. to make those changes.

Medication: All medication, both over-the-counter as well as prescription, must be given to the school health aide. Serious consequences may result if a student is found with any drugs including over the counter or prescription. First offense may result in 10 days of O.S.S. Over-the-counter or prescription drugs may not be kept in purses, pockets, book bags, lockers or anywhere else on school grounds. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Simmons at 660-841-5296.

Food Service: Please be sure and keep your student’s Food Service accounts up to date. Account balance summaries will be sent home every Friday (if your student has a negative balance it will be in parentheses). If a student’s balance is negative, they will not be allowed “extras”. If your student’s balance falls negative more than $5.00, they will be eating a cheese sandwich (for which they will not be charged) and milk (for which they will be charged.)
